Survivor bikini model's extreme 8kg weight loss
She hit the headlines on Monday after fans of Australian Survivor were left fearing her skimpy bikini would fall off during a mud challenge on the show.
And now swimsuit model Sam Schoers has shocked her fans, after revealing that she actually lost 8kg in just 16 days while filming in Fiji for the intense reality series.
The 30-year-old took to her Instagram account to share two selfies in front of a mirror, showing off her slight frame after her weeks on the Channel 10 show.
Sam said she was completely taken by surprise by her extreme weight loss because she was eating ‘huge meals’ every day.
“I thought maybe I lose 3-4kg, so when I got on the scales it was a surprise,” she told the West Australian.
Despite losing a huge amount of weight, Sam says she was ‘eating huge meals and drinking lots of water so it was just crazy’.
“Obviously you don’t see your reflection in the mirror, so when I got home I just went: ‘what the hell’.”
On Monday, a now eliminated Sam caused a flurry of comments online, after she wore a string bikini top and bottom to take part n a physical mud challenge on Survivor.
Fans of the show took to Twitter to comment on Sam’s outfit choice, with one asking, “How long do you reckon that red string bikini will last?”
Sam hit back, saying there was nothing ‘skimpy’ about the bikini at all.
“Firstly, I don’t know why there was ‘uproar’, they were actually just bathers. There were plenty of other people in bathers, some of the boys were in their underwear,” she told news.com.au.
She also added that while the outfit “might have looked delicate” it absolutely was not, revealing she had the top reinforced before going on the show and the sides of the bottoms were adjustable so she could tighten them up.
