It’s the show that catapulted the likes of Nathan Jolliffe and Mel Greig to fame, and now it appears The Amazing Race will be returning to Aussie screens.

According to TV Blackbox, Channel Ten has committed to bringing the popular reality show back.

A production source apparently told the publication, “10 have plenty of CBS cash to spend, and plenty of timeslots to fill”.

It comes after the network’s chief content officer Beverley McGarvey recently said Channel Ten would be making a big investment in two franchises to air towards the end of 2019.

“We are doing The Masked Singer, which is different, a bit crazy and a proper original. The other thing, a franchise I can’t talk about yet, will be huge for us too,” she told Media Week.

“One of them is new, one of them is a bit more familiar.”

Australia has had three of its own versions of The Amazing Race so far.

In its debut year in 2011, models Tyler Atkins & Nathan Jolliffe took out the grand final prize of $250,000.

That year radio presenter Mel Greig also competed on the series with her sister Alana.

Yahoo Lifestyle has contacted Channel Ten for comment.
