Superman & Lois: Clark’s Secret Struggle Takes Center Stage in Final Episodes (Exclusive Sneak Peek)

If it’s true that you’re only as sick as your secrets, Superman & Lois‘ titular crimefighter must be feeling pretty lousy right about now.

Fittingly titled “Regular Guy,” tonight’s episode (The CW, 8/7c) explores the weight of Clark’s hidden identity and the unintended consequences of leading a double life. It’s a complicated issue, one which Jonathan and Jordan fail to grasp in TVLine’s exclusive sneak peek.

“Your father has been keeping this a secret his whole life … but I still don’t think you understand what it actually means,” Lois says in the video above. She explains that Clark grew up with the constant fear that he would be taken away from his family if anyone discovered his powers, resulting in trauma he still hasn’t quite unpacked. (It’s a shame this show is ending, because an entire episode of Superman in therapy would probably make for excellent TV.)

Including tonight’s installment, only four episodes remain in Superman & Lois‘ too-short farewell season, and we hear that big things are on the horizon for the Man of Steel’s inner circle.

During a recent interview with TVLine, Michael Cudlitz (aka Lex Luthor) teased what he believes will be “a lot of people’s favorite moment” of the season, possibly even the series. “It’s a huge comic moment that wasn’t… but should have been.” Watch our full interview with Cudlitz below:

Additionally, a recent edition of Matt’s Inside Line included this intriguing nugget: “I am hearing that the Superman & Lois series finale will do something that no previous Man of Steel-themed TV series or movie has ever done before.”
