The TV host, who announced last week he was finishing up his time on Sunrise after 21 years, told Kyle Sandilands and Jackie 'O' Henderson on the Kyle and Jackie O Show on Wednesday morning that while they may not hang out a lot, they are on good terms.
"No, we didn't end on bad terms," he told the hosts.
Jackie pushed further, asking if the former co-hosts talk or text since she finished on the show in 2021.
"Don't forget, Sam – she quite publicly – said she wanted to get out of media and that scrutiny together," he responded.
"She sent me a really nice note on the announcement ... as did Mel [Doyle], I think I'm seeing Sam tonight at a function, I saw Mel at Fashion Week and sat next to her there."
Speaking of his relationship with current co-host Nat Barr, Kochie said he will be sad to not be working with her all the time, joking that he spends more time with her than his wife Libby.
He adds that because he spends so much time with his colleagues, he doesn't actually spend much time with them outside of work.
"I don't want to come around for dinner and all that sort of stuff. Because what else is there to talk about?" he quipped. "We've been talking for 18 hours during the week next to each other! I spend more time with their partners."
Sam shared a sweet message for Kochie on her Instagram Story last week, writing, "I want to wish Kochie all the best in his future. And to many well-deserved sleep-ins ahead."
Melissa also shared a post, writing, "Here's to remembering the laughs, tears, experiences, embarrassing moments and highlights, the wonderful loyal viewers and incredible team.
"Congratulations @kochie_online on 21 years of @sunriseon7. So proud to have been part of it. Enjoy those sleep ins."
Rumoured feud between Samantha and her former Sunrise co-stars
When Samantha left Sunrise, it was believed she had a strained relationship with her co-hosts, and it was soon revealed she didn't follow any of her former colleagues on social media.
During an interview with Kyle on her Something To Talk About podcast the radio host asked why she unfollowed her Sunrise co-hosts, to which she replied, "I don't think anyone's following anyone in there."
While Sam still isn't following Kochie or Nat, they are still following her.
Three months after leaving the job, Sam slammed Nat for speaking about her in the press.
"Look, I'm out. Nat's wanted the job forever... and she's finally got it. She just needs to get on and enjoy it - and forget about me (even though I'm unforgettable)," she Tweeted.
