A24 followed close behind on the scoreboard with 14 nominations for a range of films including director Brady Corbet’s historical epic “The Brutalist” and the Colman Domingo-led “Sing Sing.” “The Brutalist” tied with “Wicked” for the second-most decorated film with 10 nods each. Universal, the company behind “Wicked,” earned 13 nominations while its specialty division Focus Features collected 12 for the papal drama “Conclave” and director Robert Eggers’ “Nosferatu” remake. Though Universal has a combined count of 25 nominations, topping Netflix’s total, the Academy counts its awards separately, solely by distributor.
