This Is the Song From ‘The Perfect Couple’ Intro, if You Were Wondering

If you love nothing more than a murder mystery, we’ve got good news: The Perfect Couple just landed on Netflix, and it’s the perfect weekend binge-watch. The six-part series takes place in Nantucket over the Fourth of July weekend at Benji Winbury’s—the second son in a wealthy family—wedding. But when the maid of honor gets murdered, suspicions are high. So, who murdered her? And what is that song they’re all dancing to in the introduction?

Starring Nicole Kidman, Eve Hewson, Meghann Fahy, and many more recognizable faces, the official Netflix synopsis explains, “Based on Elin Hilderbrand’s New York Times best-selling novel, The Perfect Couple follows Amelia Sacks (Eve Hewson), a bride marrying into one of Nantucket’s wealthiest families.”

“The groom’s mother, Greer Garrison Winbury (Nicole Kidman), a famous novelist, spares no expense on the high-society wedding. But, when a dead body appears on the beach, everyone’s Champagne dreams quickly vanish and are replaced by suspicion. As secrets bubble up to the surface, an investigation takes hold that feels plucked from one of Greer’s books.”

The limited series features a credits scene that shows the cast dancing at the wedding in a Bollywood-style routine, which is both catchy and a little bit jarring. So, what song are they dancing to?

The track in question is “Criminals” by Meghan Trainor, from her album Timeless (Deluxe), which came out on August 15, 2024. The lyrics include:

In an interview with Vulture, Liev Schrieber, who plays father Tag Winbury in the show, revealed he was the only one from the cast who wanted to the dance, adding, “I just like dancing and I was kinda disappointed when it came out that I’m not in it more because I thought I did it really well.”
