'SNL' Musical Guests for Season 50 Include Icon Returning After 40-Year Hiatus
"Ladies and Gentleman, the musical guests of SNL Season 50."
Saturday Night Live has featured musical guests—often the biggest chart-toppers of the day—every week since the series premiered back in 1975 with artists Billy Preston and Janis Ian. Nearly every major star of the last five decades has stopped by 30 Rock to serenade viewers of SNL.
For its record-setting 50th anniversary season, Saturday Night Live appears to be pulling out all the stops. The musical lineup so far includes legends, rising stars and some of the most lauded names in Grammy history. Plus, with Season 50 running until spring of 2025, the list of greats will continue to grow.
Here's the current list of SNL musical guests for Season 50, which we'll be updating as new stars are added to the lineup throughout the year.

Jelly Roll — Episode 1 (Sept. 28)
Saturday Night Live is launching Season 50 not with an old favorite but with an up-and-comer. Country star Jelly Roll will be making his SNL debut in the episode hosted by Jean Smart. He was recently nominated for Best New Artist at the Grammys, and with a big personality, he seems likely to make a cameo in at least one sketch that night. His new album Beautifully Broken is scheduled to release on Oct. 11, so we could also get a new single from Jelly Roll.
Coldplay — Episode 2 (Oct. 5)
On the other side of things, the members of the British rock band Coldplay are among the most frequent SNL musical guests. This will be their eighth time on the show, previously performing during Seasons 26, 30, 34, 37, 39, 45 and 48. Coldplay's frontman Chris Martin also appeared solo during the back half of Season 45 on the first Saturday Night Live: At Home episode during the covid pandemic. Coldplay's new album Moon Music comes out on Oct. 4, the day before their SNL appearance.
Stevie Nicks — Episode 3 (Oct. 12)
Inexplicably, Fleetwood Mac never performed on Saturday Night Live despite the band's enduring popularity. However, band member Stevie Nicks has performed once before, on the Christmas episode of Season 9 (1983). She's returning over 40 years later for an episode hosted by Ariana Grande. Nicks hasn't announced new music, so it will be interesting to see which songs she performs.

Billie Eilish — Episode 4 (Oct. 19)
Arguably one of the biggest stars in music today, Billie Eilish will be making her fourth appearance as a musical guest on SNL in Season 50. She previously appeared on Seasons 45 (2019), 47 (2021) and 49 (2023). When she hosted in 2021 along with performing, she became the first celebrity host to be born in the 21st century (Dec. 8, 2021). Eilish's latest album Hit Me Hard and Soft came out in May but her remix to "Guess" by Charli XCX has been her most recent hit, making fans wonder if we couldn't be getting a live performance of the hit.
Chappel Roan — Episode 5 (Nov. 2)
Your favorite artist's favorite artist will be making her SNL debut on Season 50. The Midwest princess became a viral sensation over the summer and continues to be one of 2024's most fascinating celebrities. While Chappel Roan could be playing any of her rediscovered hits, here's to hoping that she debuts a new single on the SNL stage.
Musical guests for later episodes of Season 50 have yet to be announced.
