Shoppers Are 'Running to Costco ASAP' Over the Return of This Nostalgic Staple Item
We love a good reboot just as much as the next person, especially one that comes packed full of nostalgia. If you grew up in the '80s and '90s, then you likely experienced losing out on a variety of your favorite products thanks to capitalism. Whether it be Clearly Canadian Sparkling Water or the menus of Taco Bell’s past, not every great idea stands the test of time, but a select few do come back to life.
Those who fancy nostalgic soda experience most likely remember the popular drink brand Slice, as the brand initially made a name for itself as a competitor to brands like Sprite and 7-Up. First launched in 1984, Slice was released as a fruit-flavored soda by PepsiCo and quickly gained itself a cult following. But by the mid-2000s, the brand was predominantly replaced by Sierra Mist and slowly fell out of the limelight.

In 2025, things are actually looking up for Slice, though. According to FoodProcessing.com, Suja Life (parent company of Suja Organic and Vive Organic) is now in control of Slice and in the midst of a long-awaited rebrand. In a post shared to Instagram by @costcodeals, Slice soda has begun to pop up at Costco warehouse locations across the Southeast, with an all new 8-pack of Orange and Lemon Lime flavors available for purchase.
“Real soda and real soda bubbles, good for the gut with prebiotics and probiotics and only 5g (or less) of sugar,” @costcodeals wrote in their post.
As of now, there aren’t too many details surrounding Slice’s rebrand or its expected performance. Costco will be carrying 8-packs of 12-ounce assorted cans for the foreseeable future, but the price is still not yet listed anywhere online. Fans are certainly ecstatic about the news, with loads of commenters online chiming in to express their excitement.

“Lemon lime slice was my favorite as a kid,” one commenter wrote while another added, “nostalgia is real.”
What we do know is that fans can visit the Slice website now and enter an email address in order to be kept in the loop as the rebranding continues. The landing page of the website reads, “Your favorite childhood soda is getting a glow up. Check in later for the 411 on the new healthy soda.”
Suja Life has also reportedly improved the ingredients in Slice, stating that the new additions will give the soda a new life as an “all-natural, low-calorie soda that delivers gut health advantages with superior nutrition, function and taste.”
