Shauna takes a bite out of Mari in exclusive “Yellowjackets” season 3 photos

To celebrate the return of Yellowjackets, Entertainment Weekly will be revealing a new clue — sorry, exclusive — every day this week.

The way Yellowjackets left things at the end of its second season was chaotic to say the least. In present day, the women had returned to their old ways as Lottie (Simone Kessell) convinced (some of) them that the Wilderness needed another sacrifice. And when Shauna (Melanie Lynskey) drew the wrong card, well, for a second there, it didn't look good for her. But then her daughter, Callie (Sarah Desjardins) stepped in to help, more chaos ensued, and somehow, Misty (Christina Ricci) ended up accidentally killing her best friend, Natalie (Juliette Lewis).

And then there's everything that went down in the past. Teen Natalie (Sophie Thatcher) found herself drawing the wrong card and running for her life as her teammates hunted her, only for Javi (Luciano Leroux) to end up dead. It wasn't the sacrifice they wanted, but it was one they would accept, and one that convinced Teen Lottie (Courtney Eaton) that the Wilderness had chosen to save Natalie, and therefore, that Natalie should be their leader — a decision that really pissed off Shauna (Sophie Nélisse).

Oh, and let's not forget the fire that burned the team's only source of shelter to the ground, which might or might not have been started by Coach Ben (Steven Kreuger)?

Now, EW has exclusive photos from the upcoming third season, which show the teens managing to survive in the warmer weather — and Shauna quite literally biting Mari (Alexa Barajas). As series co-creator Bart Nickerson previously told EW, "I think that people will be surprised by their resourcefulness in the face of their continued survival."

The new images also give us a look at present day, where Taissa (Tawny Cypress) cares for a sick Van (Lauren Ambrose) and Shauna appears to enjoy a nice moment with her daughter.
