Selena Gomez Fulfills Fan Request at High School Volleyball Game: ‘The Kindest Heart’

While in Telluride, Colo., for the 2024 Telluride Film Festival to promote her new film Emilia Pérez, Selena Gomez took some time out of her busy schedule to visit a local volleyball team after she heard about their special request.

The team put up a poster in town that said, "Selena Gomez, please sing the National Anthem @ one of [our] home games," before offering dates and times and signing off, "THS Volleyball Team" with a heart."

Well, Gomez saw the sign, and she made time to visit the team at their school, sharing a video and some photos from the encounter on Instagram.

She wrote, "They asked!! Couldn’t help it, it’s my first time in Telluride!" In the clip, she greeted the girls and said, "I saw the sign, so I had to..." with the rest of her statement overwhelmed by the loud cheers from people in attendance.

Gomez shared a photo of herself posing with the team along with others showing the actress interacting with fans and signing things, including one boy's forehead. It's unclear if she sang for the team or not.

Zoe Saldaña, who also stars in Gomez's new film, commented, "The kindest heart indeed 🥹," and actress Ashley Park added, "This is so sweet ❤️."

The "Love On" singer's boyfriend, Benny Blanco, also commented, simply writing, "❤️❤️❤️😍😍😍," in support.

Fans were just as enamored with Gomez, with replies like, "The people’s princess fr," "omg so cute i'm sure you made their day🥺❤️❤️," and "i love you and your heart so much🤍."

Along with her ambitious role in the movie Emilia Pérez, which will arrive in U.S. theaters on Nov. 1 and hit Netflix on Nov. 13, Gomez's TV series, Only Murders in the Building, just returned for its fourth season on Aug. 27. The hit show also stars Martin Short and Steve Martin.
