"The View" also revealed its roster of September guests, including Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson, Nancy Pelosi, Venus Williams, and Dolly Parton.

Whoopi Goldberg has officially returned from her European vacation era to christen The View's new gorgeous new set with a morning champagne glass.

After a month-long summer hiatus, Goldberg welcomed The View's return for its season 28 premiere inside an elaborate new studio, complete with a new set, audience seating area, and a new theme song, "New Version," written by Oscar-nominated lyricist Diane Warren and performed by pop star Leona Lewis.

The first live shot of the new season saw the show's camera flying through a Walt Disney Company building in Manhattan, before it entered the Hudson Square Theater to show Goldberg standing atop a giant new set piece featuring stairs and a one-on-one interview space.

"New digs, new season, new View," Goldberg said from atop the platform, raising a champagne glass toward the audience. "We're live right now. Let's get started!"

Goldberg then took her post in the moderator chair to kick off season 28, with cohosts Joy Behar, Sunny Hostin, Sara Haines, and Alyssa Farah Griffin all joining her for a day of Hot Topics from the new set. The show's new studio includes a dark wood floor, with deep emerald green and gold accents.

"We got lost on the way to the bathroom," Griffin confirmed of the new space, while Behar added: "I needed the sound guy to take me to the bathroom."

As she moved the conversation on, Goldberg noted that the cohosts couldn't help but be distracted by producer Brian Teta's new placement closer to the table.

"Brian is on a much different plane. He's closer! And you all are closer, it's quite something," Goldberg said, referencing the new audience stands. "We have to talk about the fact that we're in a brand new space, because it's very different. It's a big change for us, too, because when I came, the set was vastly different, we were on a big old thing, now we're on even space, we're all on the same space!"

The show's first commercial break of season 28 teased all of the guests slated to appear on the program throughout September, including Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson, Governor Josh Shapiro, Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Venus Williams, Usher, Kathryn Hahn, Lily Collins, Sebastian Maniscalco, Connie Chung, Joan Vassos, Kristen Bell, Uzo Aduba, Dax Shepard, Katie Ledecky, and Dolly Parton.

Though The View hasn't aired a new episode in several weeks, the show's cohosts have made headlines on their own during the show's summer hiatus.

Griffin kept her followers updated on political developments throughout August, both from her post as an on-air contributor on CNN, as well as on her social media feeds, where she recently criticized Kamala Harris' decision to run alongside Tim Walz as her VP pick, and also speculated on how she thought Taylor Swift might be able to assist the Democratic ticket in winning the election.

Meanwhile, Ana Navarro hosted the second night of the Democratic National Convention in August, where she blasted Donald Trump on stage over associating with "people who shoot" dogs, a clear nod to Kristi Noem, Trump supporter and self-admitted killer of her family's dog. She also posted online an incendiary criticism of Ann Coulter, after the conservative pundit mocked Walz's son, who has a learning disorder, for crying tears of joy for his father at the DNC.
