See Jimmy Fallon and Cara Delevingne spoof Hallmark Christmas movies: 'It's all the same plot, everyone's hot'
But don't expect a happily ever after.
Jimmy Fallon and Cara Delevingne have joined forces to celebrate the best part of the holiday season: Hallmark movies.
As part of Jimmy Fallon's Holiday Seasoning Spectacular, the duo came together to sing their way through a romcom gone horribly wrong. Decked out in holiday appropriate attire (bright red outfits), the sketch sees them playing two unsuspecting strangers who bump into one another at a small town hardware store. He picks up her papers, she hands over his nuts and bolts and thus, their musical meet cute begins.
Oh, and their names are Holly and Nick.
"I saw you walk in my hardware store, I'm a local in town, you ain't been here before. My business is failing 'cause you boss built a Walmart," Fallon croons, then pauses, coming to a meta-realization: "Oh my God, this is a movie on Hallmark."
The next verse sees Delevingne taking over, running down her own list of Hallmark movie cliches.
"I saw you working and busting a sweat, but I'm from the city, can't settle down yet," she sings. "I'm out of your league, way out of your ballpark. Turns out you're a prince! This is a movie on Hallmark."
Together, they flirt, dance, and even manage to spot former Hallmark movie royalty. "It's all the same plot, everyone's hot, and it's almost Christmas Day," they sing. "The drama is low, it's starting to snow, I think I see Candace Cameron Bure!"

As with any Hallmark tale, the story unfolds just as expected: despite their differences and the fact that Nick hates Christmas, they manage to fall in love and find happiness together. Except, instead of the usual happily ever after, the story keeps going.
"We get married, now you're reaching for a knife. Why?" Fallon's Nick wonders aloud, as Delevingne approaches with her weapon. And then he comes to an unfortunate second realization: "Oh my god, this is a movie on Lifetime!"

Though that particular performance took a turn for Fallon, the late night host managed to survive his encounters with the Jonas Brothers, Justin Timberlake, and more, as other stars joined him for their own musical interludes.
Fallon's holiday special aired after the Dec. 4 Christmas in Rockefeller tree-lighting ceremony and is now available to stream on Peacock.
