Scary reason for urgent recall of popular pram sold at Baby Bunting: 'Serious risk'

As any parent knows all too well, a pram is one of the most crucial items you will buy. It's a handy companion that allows you to get out of the house with your little one when cabin fever starts to creep in during those newborn months and a reliable way to run errands or enjoy a day out with your kiddo.

Stokke's range of YoYo prams has long been a go-to for Aussie parents, but the company recently issued a recall on the frame of one of its bestsellers. The brand posted a message on its Instagram page, informing customers of a problem with the brakes.

"We have issued a recall of a certain batch of our Stokke® YOYO³ frames due to an issue with the parking brake that could cause the brake to fail when in use. If the parking brake fails, there is a risk of serious injury to babies or young children. We’ve initiated a recall to help prevent any issues," the post read.

Customers were urged to stop using the product immediately and to check the serial number on the frame to determine if their particular item was subject to the recall.

"We sincerely apologise for any concern and inconvenience this matter may cause you," the caption continued.

"We understand how important it is to choose safe and reliable products for your child. This is why we are dedicated to the safety and well-being of every baby and child who uses our products. Thank you in advance for your participation."

According to the ACCC's Product Safety page, the affected Stokke YOYO 3 frame models have ‘AA’ in the serial number and were sold between 29 September 2024 and 25 October 2024.

The serial number can be found on the underside of the frame underneath the seat cushion.
