Jess Spaulding took to TikTok last week to share the video of her restless baby girl, Charlotte, crying throughout the flight. Jess also eventually being brought to tears over the situation saying she felt completely defeated.
"We're never going to see these people again, it's going to be OK," Jess says to her baby at one point, as she tells the camera that she thinks everyone on the plane hates her. "I feel like crying with her."
In the caption on TikTok, Jess explained more about the situation. "I just got progressively more and more defeated 😭 This post isn’t meant to scare anyone from flying with your baby. It's just to show that sometimes you have genuinely NO CONTROL over your baby crying," she wrote. "So many people on here know Charlotte is a happy baby who doesn’t cry which is often the case. That said, sometimes there are times where you can try EVERYTHING and they just don't stop. I wanted to post this to remind the moms that go through this that it is not you. You did nothing wrong and you are not a bad mom. Stay strong mamas!! It'll continue to get better so I hear," she finished the post.
TikTok divided over baby on plane: 'This is my nightmare'
People in the comment section were divided over the video, with someone saying flying with a baby is "crazy" and someone else saying "this is my nightmare as a passenger."
"She needs a pacifier to comfort her," one person said, while others pointed out that Jess shouldn't be filming. "Step 1, put the phone down!" someone commented.
"I don’t understand why people don’t wait until the kids are at least 10-12 months to travel," another person stated.

Support for solo mum
Others rushed to support the young mum.
"I WILL NEVER BE ANNOYED OF A CRYING BABY ON A FLIGHT AGAIN 😭 I‘m so sorry! This must be so stressful 🥺❤️🩹 You’re doing great," one person said. "Ugh your tears made me sad….. You’re a great mama. So much grace," another agreed.
"I may be annoyed, but I will never ever judge unless it’s obvious the parent isn’t trying. You’re doing your best! It happens," someone else said in support. "Whenever I hear a baby crying and feel annoyed I remember that the mom is probably feeling even worse," another added.
"You don't need to worry about others! Most everyone has earbuds. They can be mildly inconvenienced for a few hours. You just focus on you and your baby!" someone else said.
Others questioned why no one on the flight helped the mum. "Why did no one help her?" someone asked.
