Ariana Madix replaces Sarah Hyland as “Love Island USA” host

The "Vanderpump Rules" star will head to the villa after the "Modern Family" actress announced her exit.

Sarah Hyland has voted herself off the island, and Ariana Madix is headed to the villa in her stead.

Madix, who rose to fame on Vanderpump Rules and recently reached the Dancing With the Stars finals on season 32, will be the new host of Love Island USA, Peacock announced Friday. The news comes a few days after Hyland declared her exit from the dating show, which she hosted for two seasons.

Madix is a self-professed Love Island superfan, and made a guest appearance in season 5. "I can't wait to stir up some trouble in paradise," she said in an Instagram video Friday.

Hyland revealed Wednesday on social media that she wouldn't be back for season 6, citing a scheduling conflict. "Well, just got a text," the Modern Family alum wrote, winking at the lingo of the show. "I'm disappointed the news had to break this way but it is in fact true that I will not be returning to the island this summer. I have committed to an exciting project that will be announced soon that conflicts directly with the shooting dates for Love Island USA."

Hyland added, "While I'm sad I can't return, I hope to see lots of love this summer on Peacock this upcoming season!"

Love Island first broke out as a hit dating show in the United Kingdom, and began its United States version in 2019. Arielle Vandenberg hosted the first three seasons, which aired on CBS.

Fittingly enough, Hyland's husband, Bachelor franchise regular Wells Adams, is also a key player in summer island dating shows, having served as host and bartender on multiple seasons of Bachelor in Paradise. Though there's no word whether he'll be returning to paradise this summer just yet.
