Ryan Reynolds delivered quite the superhero surprise to an 8-year-old cancer patient in Boston.

The Deadpool & Wolverine actor recently visited the boy, named Nash, as seen in a video shared to X by Mass General for Children on Friday, Sept. 20.

After entering the room with a bag of goodies, Reynolds, 47, shook an excited Nash's hand and the two bonded over a decorated Deadpool mask, with Reynolds telling Nash about the work he does with the SickKids Foundation.

The actor and father of four went on to praise Nash's strength, telling him, "Everything you've gone through, that is a lot for an 8-year-old kid to shoulder. I hope you know that."

"You've got what's called mettle ... grit," Reynolds continued. "Everything you're going through today, I promise you, it's gonna be incredibly useful."

"Loved this moment. 💕When Ryan's BFF Hugh Jackman happens to call during your visit, you get a bonus FaceTime with WOLVERINE! 😮," Poirer captioned the latter clip.

During the FaceTime, Reynolds told Jackman, "I’m at a Boston hospital with a kid named Nash. He’s the coolest kid you’ll ever meet, and he’s going to watch Deadpool & Wolverine soon."

"And he probably doesn’t even know who you are!” Reynolds joked.
