Royal insider reveals truth behind Prince Harry's UK comeback: 'To be forgiven'
While rumour has it Prince Harry wants to return to royal duties, an insider has revealed the truth.
An insider has spilled the truth on the major theory that Prince Harry is keen to return to royal duties in the UK after stepping down as a senior royal in 2020 with his wife Meghan Markle. Since leaving the family, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex relocated their family to the US, but rumours have persisted recently that Harry is keen to return to the UK and royal duties.
However, it's now understood that Harry has "no interest" in resuming his former royal responsibilities, according to an insider who spoke to The Telegraph. Michael Cole, a former BBC royal correspondent, previously suggested that Harry's re-release of Spare as a paperback may be seen as an olive branch for the royal family because he has decided not to add any new chapters or bombshells about them.

"According to pals in Britain, he wants to improve his image on this side of the Atlantic so that he can come here more often," Cole told GB News. "Apparently, he even has thoughts of performing minor royal duties. I think the chances of that are between slim and none.
"It apparently seems to be his purpose. He has got friends over here. Maybe he renewed his acquaintance with them when he went to his uncle’s funeral," Cole added, referencing Harry's recent secret visit to the UK for Princess Diana's brother-in-law Lord Robert Fellowes' funeral last week.
Cole added of the book, "He won’t be promoting it. I think that is a bit of a peace feeler. It’s a bit of a token. Maybe it’s his way of saying, ‘I’m very sorry - I would like to be forgiven a bit’.
“His whole life was here [in the UK]. He was extremely popular. He gave great service to the armed forces. He had two army tours in Afghanistan and he was tremendously popular. He could have been such a great asset along with his wife."
Prince Harry and Prince William reunion unlikely
It comes after Prince Harry and Prince William were spotted mere metres away from each other last week as they gathered to farewell their uncle.
Royal expert Hugo Vickers told The Sun that if there were to be any reconciliation between the brothers, there would be an "enormous amount of groundwork to be done." However, he believes there could be a chance "if both sides are prepared to give a little."
He added, "Let's hope that one day this will happen. But I don't honestly see it happening in the near future."
"They have been in the same room, if I can put it like that, on several occasions," Vickers said. "But this doesn't necessarily mean that there's going to be a reconciliation.

"I think that, from what I understand, Prince William is very annoyed, and tends to be rather unforgiving, so I think there's an enormous amount of groundwork to be done."
Referencing Harry's book and his Netflix docuseries Harry & Meghan, Vickers said, "He has thrown a great number of spears and javelins in the direction of the Royal family, particularly at Prince William, and indeed at Catherine as well, and, of course, to the King.
"So Prince William, I think, has every reason to be very irritated by his brother."
The royal expert says that while the brothers may have been able to patch things up before Spare and Harry & Meghan were released, it's going to be less likely now, especially given William is "very protective of his wife".
