Roxy Jacenko spends an eye-watering $50K for kid's birthday bash
The mum-of-two hired a popular celebrity event planner.
Roxy Jacenko is known for sparing no expense when it comes to her children, and the PR professional pulled out all the stops for her son’s ninth birthday. Hunter Curtis’ lavish Hawaiian-themed party took place on a luxury 122ft super yacht in Sydney Harbour.
The tropical bash reportedly cost an eye-watering $50,000, with Roxy telling Sunday Confidential the entire party catered to her son’s requests. Due to Covid, Hunter missed out on spending his birthday with friends for the past three years, so she wanted to make it special.
“Hunter was looking through old photos from when he was little and came across some images of a trip we went on to Hawaii — it was then he decided he wanted a Hawaiian-themed ninth birthday,” she told the publication.
“He had my mum Doreen buy him a traditional Hawaiian shirt on her recent vacation just like the one he wore when he was in Hawaii as part of his look for the day with friends.”
The brightly-coloured bash was executed with the help of Diane Khoury, the in-demand celebrity event planner responsible for big celebrations such as Sophie Monk’s wedding.

The guests sailed around the harbour for three hours on a super yacht that costs $2800 per hour to rent. There were custom slippers and floral leis for guests, along with a caricature artist, a DJ and mocktails served in pineapples.
His party also had personalised surfboard decor and a custom bar, along with a decorative 13-metre balloon garland and a jacuzzi for the guests to play in.
Of course, there were plenty of sweet treats on board for the kids to enjoy. The huge lolly buffet was a showstopper, along with custom cardboard boxes for guests to fill, and Hunter looked chuffed when his birthday cake was unveiled.
The giant two-tiered cake was covered with pale blue fondant and an array of Hawaiian-themed items. A replica of Hunter holding a surfboard sat on top, with palm trees, surfboards and a flamingo attached to the base of the cake.
