Roxy Jacenko slammed for photo of 10-year-old daughter: 'Very wrong'

Roxy Jacenko has been blasted online for letting her 10-year-old daughter, Pixie Curtis, get long acrylic nails.

The PR queen shared a photo of her daughter’s colourful manicure on Pixie’s Instagram account, which boasts over 98k followers and is co-managed by Roxy.

“Lucky dad lives in Tassie and @roxyjacenko is in charge. How cool are my nails,” the caption read.

The image shows Pixie’s colourful nails adorned with daisies, retro swirls and French tips thanks to Sydney nail salon CJ Artistry.

It didn’t take long, however, for the SAS Australia star to receive backlash for allowing her young daughter to get fake nails.

“Not sure on a young girl, plenty of time for that,” one person commented, followed by another who added, “Be a kid as long as you can because you can never get it back”.

“Very wrong for a 10-year-old, there is no need to lush children to grow up sooner or look older,” someone else wrote.

“Sorry but this is truly disgusting on a 10-year-old!” a fourth shared, while a different user said it was “totally inappropriate”.

Meanwhile, plenty of followers rushed to Roxy’s defence and said that she is an “amazing mother” who shouldn’t be judged by others.

“I miss the days when people just let kids have fun and said nice stuff instead of thinking that social media gives them the right to judge,” one fan remarked.

“Love them. My daughter is the same age and loves her nails done. Haters gonna hate,” another replied.

“School holiday fun, I used to love my holiday makeovers,” someone else said, with a fourth calling Pixie “the coolest kid in Australia!”.

The social media debate comes shortly after Kourtney Kardashian was also called out for letting her nine-year-old daughter, Penelope, get fake nails.

Penelope posted a video on TikTok earlier this month showcasing her long brown acrylics while opening a can of soda, which left many followers outraged.

“Wow, kids this age put on nails in the USA…” one person wrote, with another adding, “P you’re too young to be fixing nails”.

“WAIT… Does she have tips on!? At that age I was lucky enough to wear eyeshadow,” someone else shared.
