But The Godfather Part II star wasn’t there alone—according to photos and videos posted on social media, he was at the event with former U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry and U.S. Rep. Chrissy Houlahan of Pennsylvania to encourage voter support for Vice President Kamala Harris, who is the Democratic Party’s 2024 nominee for president.
Michael Embrich, a former member of the Secretary of Veterans Affairs’ Advisory Committee on the Readjustment of Veterans, was traveling with the group on Sunday and shared a photo on X, formerly Twitter, of De Niro, 81, addressing Eagles fans. Embrich wrote that he was “Honored to join” De Niro, Kerry and Houlahan at the tailgate before urging, “Let’s get out the vote for Kamala Harris!”
The NFL and the Eagles also shared photos of De Niro attending the tailgate on X, with both accounts crediting the images to Eagles fan Mark Kremer.
“Eagles tailgates remain elite,” the Philadelphia team tweeted.

De Niro arrived at the tailgate ahead of the Eagles’ game against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday. The game occurred just two days before the 2024 presidential election on Tuesday, Nov. 5. Harris, who launched her presidential campaign after President Joe Biden ended his bid for re-election in July, is sharing the Democratic ticket with Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz. The two are running against former President Donald Trump and Ohio Sen. JD Vance, the Republican Party’s nominees for president and vice president, in a race that remained close at the time of Sunday’s game.
