Robert Irwin wishes he could ask Steve for advice following Rorie Buckey breakup
The wildlife warrior called the death of Steve Irwin 'pure, unfiltered devastation and loss' for his mum Terri and sister Bindi.
Robert Irwin has spoken candidly about missing his late father Steve Irwin, saying there isn't a day that goes by that he doesn't think about him.
The TV star and wildlife warrior, who recently split from long-term girlfriend Rorie Buckey, spoke to The Australian Women's Weekly and said that he wishes he could ask his father for advice as he navigates life in the public eye.
"There isn't a day that goes by I don't think, 'I wonder what I'd ask Dad if he was here.' There are so many things I wish I could ask him on so many levels,' Robert said.
"When you lose a father figure at such a young age, who's such a commanding presence of positivity and everything good in the world, all I want is for him to be here for me, to go, 'What do you think about this,'" he continued.
Robert has become only the third man to grace the cover of the women's mag solo, with only Hugh Jackman and Prince Harry being the previous men to front the cover.
With Robert being only three when Steve died, he credited his mum Terri, and sister Bindi, for being a grounding force in his life.

Robert Irwin and Rorie Buckey split
The beloved couple shocked fans last week when they announced they had broken up after over a year of dating.
The two shared a joint statement on Instagram, saying: “We wanted to share that we have decided to go our separate ways but profoundly appreciate all of the time spent together and wish one another all the very best into the future.
“We wish to express the gratitude and respect we have for one another as we continue our journeys on different paths.
“We won't be commenting further on this, and really appreciate your respect and privacy at this time.”
Shortly after posting their breakup announcement, it appeared Rorie and Robert deleted all evidence of their relationship on social media.
Rorie has also removed ‘Wildlife Warrior’ from her Instagram bio and changed her account settings from public to private, however, they are still following each other at the time of writing.
It’s unknown exactly when the pair broke up, although Robert revealed last month that he was hoping to bring his entire family - including Rorie - to South Africa when he films I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! in March.
Just two weeks ago Rorie commented on a post of Bindi, Robert, Terri, and Bindi's husband Chandler with "love you guys!".
