Ringo Starr Says He's Never Eaten Pizza in His Life — Despite Once Starring in Pizza Hut Commercial
“With pizza, you don’t know what you’re putting in it half the time," the musician said during an appearance on 'Jimmy Kimmel Live!'
Ringo Starr has never eaten pizza!
On Tuesday, Jan. 28, the Beatles drummer, 84, appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! and dropped the shocking revelation that he's never had a pizza slice.
Asked if it was true that he had never eaten pizza, Starr replied, “I’ve never had a pizza,” as members of the audience gasped.
“Or a curry,” he added before reenacting the audience’s amazed expressions.
“I’m allergic to several items,” Starr continued. “With pizza, you don’t know what you’re putting in it half the time, or the curry. So I’m pretty strict with myself 'cause it makes me ill immediately.”

“I used to think you had the greatest life, and now I realize mine is better,” Kimmel, 57, joked, to which Starr replied, “Yours is better because you’ve had a pizza.”
According to Billboard, the songwriter’s comments don’t come as a complete surprise due to him following a vegetarian diet for many years.
However, the outlet reports that Starr has been a spokesperson for the restaurant chain Pizza Hut.
In 1995, the musician appeared in an ad campaign for the company to promote Pizza Hut’s then-new stuffed crust.

“I’d do it in a second,” Starr said in the commercial while teasing a Beatles reunion. “The fans will dig it, they’ve waited long enough. I’ve just got to get the other lads to agree.”
Sitting by a drum set, he then took a slice out of a Pizza Hut box. However, he was then joined by members of the Monkees instead of the Beatles.
“Wrong lads,” Starr said at the end, as the artists took bites of their pizza.
