Rihanna Showed Off Her Natural Curls in a Dramatic New Hair Color

Rihanna is a fashion and beauty chameleon. Every time the mogul steps out, she does so in a bold outfit and look—the bad gal has got range. After debuting blunt, choppy bangs at the 2024 Footwear News Achievement Awards in December, RiRi is showing off another beauty side that includes her natural curls.

In the new campaign photos for her beauty brand Fenty's latest product, the You Mist makeup-extending setting spray, Rihanna opted to let her natural hair texture shine through. Her hair also appears to be a darker brown shade with some slight blonde highlights.

In one of the images, released with a press release, Rihanna can be seen modeling a black turtleneck-halter top hybrid while smoldering at the camera and spraying the mister onto her face. She accessorized with a giant diamond statement ring, matching stud earrings, and silver hoops, and her glam included a super smoked-out eyeliner and a '90s-inspired lined lip.

According to a Fenty Hair press release, the brand's Global Stylist, Yusef William, first washed the singer's hair with Fenty Hair The Rich One Moisture Shampoo, then applied the brand's The Comeback Kid Instant Damage Repair Treatment, and finally styled her curls with the Homecurl Curl-Defining Styling Cream.

The new makeup-setting spray provides 12-hour wear, and Fenty's new Invisiflex Defense Shield protects the skin against pollution and other environmental factors. The formula also contains skincare ingredients, including antioxidants and wild thyme extract, for improved texture and lasting hydration.

"I wanted to make a setting spray that really locks in your makeup but moves with you, not against you," Rihanna said in the release. "We spend the time putting on our makeup, we deserve to have it last! You Mist gives you 12-hour wear that makes your skin look and feel even better with each spray."

This isn't the first time Rihana has rocked her natural hair. Back in June, the star attended the launch of Fenty Hair with her caramel-colored curls on full display. In October, the Fenty Hair Instagram shared a video capturing how the beauty businesswoman achieved the look. In the clip, Rihanna can be seen washing her hair and applying products before having a hairstylist define her curls.

In a recent interview with InStyle, Rihanna opened up about how she keeps her hair healthy while still testing out different styles.

"It’s all about repair and strengthening my hair. I’m always switching up my hair—the color, the length, the style—so making sure my hair is nourished is really the key for making any look work," she said. "So whether it’s downtime or it’s just in between switching up my hairstyle, I always make sure to really go in with Fenty Hair The Comeback Kid, our bond-building product, and swap out my normal conditioner for The Richer One."
