The show is a six-parter in which Baby Reindeer creator Gadd stars opposite Jamie Bell (All of Us Strangers). They play estranged ‘brothers’ Ruben and Niall over an almost 40-year period, covering the highs and lows of their relationship.

Per the synopsis: “When Ruben shows up unexpectedly at Niall’s wedding, it leads to an explosion of violence that catapults us back through their lives.”

Robertson (Curfew, Mayflies) and Campbell (SAS Rogue Heroes, The Winter King) will play Niall (Robertson) and Ruben (Campbell) in their younger years.

“Having scoured far and wide and met some of the most amazing talent this country has to offer, I’m so pleased to have landed on the cast that we have,” said Gadd. “I cannot wait for all our actors, young and old, to bring these characters to life. I have every faith everyone will fall in love with these performers as much as I did.”

Currently filming in Scotland, the series comes from Banijay UK production house Mam Tor. Gadd is the writer, creator and exec producer. Tally Garner and Morven Reid are exec producers for Mam Tor alongside Gaynor Holmes for the BBC and Gavin Smith for BBC Scotland. Alexandra Brodski and Eshref Reybrouck are the directors and Wendy Griffin is producing.
