‘RHONJ’s Margaret Josephs Speaks Honestly About Ozempic Use

'Real Housewives of New Jersey' star Margaret Josephs.

The Real Housewives of New Jersey star Margaret Josephs didn't hold back while discussing her experience taking Ozempic for weight loss.

Joined by her fellow Bravo personality Dolores Catania, the reality TV stars shared their honest thoughts about the drug while speaking with Sherri Shepherd during the Thursday, May 2, episode of her self-titled talk show Sherri.

Though countless celebrities have admitted to using the FDA-approved prescription medication for treating Type 2 diabetes, Ozempic, and drugs like it, there has been an onslaught of warnings and bold opinions about taking the weekly semaglutide injectable.

Even Shepherd suggested that there are probably more people on Ozempic than the public realizes, as many A-listers won't discuss it.

“I don’t know why because there’s no shame in it,” Catania, 53, said. “If a doctor gives it to you, if you’re doing things right, you’re becoming healthier by losing weight. It’s a bunch of great things that come along with this.”

“This is my high school weight. I’m not parting with it and I’m gonna be honest because it’s right,” she added.

“After menopause, it’s so hard to lose weight," Josephs, 57, explained. "And then you’re shamed for it if you’re heavy,”

“It shuts off that food noise, my blood work is great,” she said of taking the medication. “[Before Ozempic] I couldn’t do anything. It doesn’t matter if I was eating right or exercising so I don’t know why there’s any shame in it if it’s helpful to people.”

While the Bravolebrities are of the opinion that there's no shame in getting a little help from weight loss drugs, they also clarified that with that aid there comes a responsibility to be honest with others.

“This is not natural,” Josephs said of her appearance. “It takes a village. No one wakes up like this and no one on social media wakes up like that.”
