Rebel Wilson sparks fury with 'hypocritical' post: 'Unfollowing now'

The scathing comments come after the A-lister announced her relationship with Ramona Agruma.

Aussie A-lister Rebel Wilson has sparked fury with her latest Instagram post showing off her lavish night out for the opening of an ultra-luxury resort in Dubai. The exclusive event to celebrate the opening of Atlantis The Royal featured a performance by Beyoncé, who was reportedly paid about $34 million for the show, with Kendall Jenner, Liam Payne, Ellen Pompeo and Australia's Sonia Kruger among those who scored an invite.

Rebel was accompanied by her fashion designer partner Ramona Agruma and donned a green dress cinched at the waist with a thick black belt.

"Atlantis The Royal is BEYond! What a weekend with BEY!" she captioned a post showing off the luxurious occasion.

However, fans slammed Rebel for the post, with many outraged that she attended the event due to homosexuality being illegal in the United Arab Emirates. Sentences for breaking the law come with a maximum penalty of death.

"Human rights? LGBTQ? Unfollowing now," one furious fan wrote.

"Aren’t you a member of LGBTQ+ community? The hypocrisy of it all," another stated.

"You do know that it’s the death penalty in Dubai for homosexuality?? Supporting such a country is really, really poor form, especially as a member of that community," a third added.

"Oh the Privilege. What about other LGBT people?" an outraged comment read.

The Pitch Perfect actress announced her relationship with girlfriend Ramona in June, delighting fans as she came out as a member of the LGBTQIA+ community.

“I thought I was searching for a Disney Prince…but maybe what I really needed all this time was a Disney Princess. Love is love,” she wrote alongside a photo of herself and Ramona.

It came just months before she welcomed her first baby via a surrogate in November.
