The Rebel Wilson-led action comedy “Bride Hard” has bagged a domestic release from Magenta Light Studios.

The cast is stacked with more than one Barden Bella (of another Wilson franchise, “Pitch Perfect”) and includes: Anna Camp (“Scream 7,” “Pitch Perfect”), Emmy nominee Anna Chlumsky (“Inventing Anna,” “Veep”), Academy Award winner Da’Vine Joy Randolph (“The Holdovers”), Gigi Zumbado (“Heart Eyes”), Stephen Dorff (“True Detective,” “The Righteous Gemstones”), and Justin Hartley (“Tracker,” “This is Us”). The film is eyeing a wide release for 2025, on the back of Magenta Light’s buzzy first release “Strange Darling.”
Wilson plays Sam, a maid of honor for her childhood best friend. Out of her comfort zone, and with fellow bridesmaids judging her every move, she struggles to maintain her cover. But when a team of mercenaries take the uber-wealthy guests hostage, it’s up to Sam to do what none of the other bridesmaids can – wage war on anyone who would ruin the most important day of her best friend’s life.
The film is produced by Balcony 9’s Joel David Moore (“Immaculate Room,” “Some Other Woman”), along with Colleen Camp (“Above Suspicion”), Cassian Elwes (“The Butler”), Max Osswald (“Immaculate Room”), and Jason Ross Jallet (“Big Gold Brick”). The film was produced in association with WME Independent, Cooper Island Films and Latigo Films.
Veteran producer Camp played a pivotal role in the making of “Bride Hard,” from securing Wilson’s involvement at the script stage to finding a home for the finished film at Magenta Light Studios.
“This project is a testament to the power of collaboration and determination,” said Camp. “Rebel’s comedic genius and Simon’s expertise in action storytelling made this a dream project to champion. I’m thrilled to see it find its theatrical audience.”
The deal was negotiated by C.J. Vranca, head of business and legal Affairs at Magenta Light, and Zev Raben of Ramo Law PC. WME Independent is handling international sales on the project.
