Celebrity MasterChef: Rebecca Gibney reveals behind the scenes look

She’s one of the ten celebrities set to cook up a storm in the upcoming season of Celebrity MasterChef, and now Rebecca Gibney has shared a behind-the-scenes glimpse at her time in the competition.

Ahead of the show’s premiere on Sunday, the Back To The Rafters star took to Instagram over the weekend to post a gallery of selfies with her co-stars and opened up about the experience.

“This time next Sunday I walk through the famous MasterChef doors with these glorious humans,” she began.

“None of us knew what we were getting ourselves into and I am so so grateful to each and every one of them for the hugs, the laughs, the tears and the joy.

“They are all incredibly open-hearted, funny, kind, beautiful people and I can’t wait to relive what was truly one of the most extraordinary experiences of my life (for a whole bunch of reasons!).”

The Gold Logie winning actress went on to thank the show’s production team, as well as judges Melissa Leong, Jock Zonfrillo and Andy Allen, for “letting me come to play”.

“I reckon it might be pretty good tele,” she added with a wink emoji. “And I can’t wait to watch… I think.”

Rebecca finished the post saying that she “LOVED” being back in Melbourne to film the show, writing: “Still one of the best cities in the world.”

Rebecca will be joined in the kitchen by a number of famous faces, such as radio host Chrissie Swan, singer-songwriter Dami Im, and Offspring actor Matthew Le Nevez.

Other stars include renowned fashion designer Collette Dinnigan, comedian Dilruk Jayasinha, gold medal Olympian Ian Thorpe, football legend Archie Thompson, and AFL champion Nick Riewoldt.

Perhaps the most surprising contestant is 19-year-old British TV presenter and TikTok star Tilly Ramsay, who is the daughter of celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay.

A number of this year’s cast members took to the comments on Rebecca’s post to share their excitement for the upcoming season.

“Gosh it was SUCH A MAGICAL TIME,” Chrissie shared, to which Rebecca replied, “I would go back and do it all again in a heartbeat!”.

“Take me back!” Nick added.

A number of fans also wrote that they “can’t wait” to watch the show as it is just what they need during lockdown.

Celebrity MasterChef premieres Sunday, 10 October at 7:30pm on Channel 10 and 10 play On Demand.
