The Real Reason Why Ben Foster and Laura Prepon Are Divorcing After 6 Years of Marriage

Ben Foster and Laura Prepon are officially joining the ranks of celebs who ended their relationship in 2024. According to multiple outlets, Ben filed for divorce from the That 70s Show star after six full years of marriage. So...why are they splitting up?

According to Us Weekly, Ben cited the tried-and-true "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for their split in divorce docs, and listed the date of separation as September 9, 2023. So...a full year ago. The actor also asked the court for an “equitable division” of assets and debt, which is in line with the prenup he and Laura signed in 2018. As a reminder, the couple have two children together, and Ben made reference to a “marital dissolution agreement and agreed parenting plan.”

TMZ reports that the exes are "already living separately," with Laura in Tennessee and Ben in Los Angeles. Sources also tell the outlet that Laura has already ditched her wedding ring. Meanwhile, People claims that Ben straight-up said in divorce docs that he and Laura are no longer able "live together successfully as husband and wife." He also asked that they pay their own fees and divide court costs equally.

Laura and Ben were friends forever before they started dating in 2016. They got engaged that same year, welcomed their daughter in 2017, and got married in June 2018 before going on to have a son in 2020.

Neither Laura nor Ben have spoken out about their split, but stay tuned!
