Susan Lucci
The year before landing her big break as Erica Kane on All My Children in 1970, Susan Lucci wed Helmut Huber. The couple welcomed two children together, Andreas and Liza and was married for more than 50 years before Huber's death in 2022 at the age of 84.
When asked if she was ready to start dating again the year after her longtime husband's death, Lucci said: "No, I'm not ready ... Everybody's different, and I just miss him and he's worth missing. He was really, really the love of my life."
Cameron Mathison
Cameron and Vanessa Mathison were married for more than 20 years before announcing their divorce in July 2024.
"After 22 years of marriage, we have made the difficult decision to part ways," the actor began in a statement shared to Instagram. "We enter this new chapter with deep love, kindness, and respect for each other. We hold gratitude in our hearts for the wonderful years we shared together."
The former couple share two children together, Leila and Lucas.
Kelly Ripa & Mark Consuelos
Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos' real life love story began at the same time as their onscreen love story, as the pair met in 1995 while Consuelos was auditioning for All My Children. The actor was cast as Ripa's love interest on the show and in 1996, they eloped in Las Vegas.
Now, more than 25 years later, the two are the proud parents of three kids as well as cohosts on Live with Kelly and Mark.
Debbi Morgan
Debbi Morgan, who played Dr. Angie Baxter both on the original series and on the 2013 reboot, celebrated her 15th wedding anniversary with husband Jeffrey Winston in July.
Jacob Young
Jacob Young, who began his tenure on AMC in 2001 as J.R. Chandler, shares three kids, Luke, Molly and Grace, with his wife Christen. In 2023, when the couple celebrated their 16th wedding anniversary, they shared a tribute to the milestone in a joint Instagram post, writing, "Growing with you and creating our beautiful family together is a blessing."
Rebecca Budig
Rebecca Budig announced she was engaged to Michael Benson in early 2011 following her divorce from Bachelor star Bob Guiney the previous year. The pair married in 2012 and later welcomed a daughter.
Thorsten Kaye
Thorsten Kaye, who played Zach Slater on AMC, shares two daughters with his wife, One Live to Live actress, Susan Haskell.
When accepting his Daytime Emmy award for The Bold and the Beautiful in 2024, Kaye shared a sweet shoutout to his wife and daughters.
"I've got Marlowe and McKenna — being your dad is the greatest honor of my life," before adding of his wife, "Susan, thank you for this beautiful kids and everything that you sacrificed did not go unnoticed. Thank you, honey, I love you."
Julia Barr
Julia Barr, who played Brooke English for decades on AMC, married Richard Hirschlag and welcomed one daughter, Allison, who would go on to have a brief stint on a soap opera of her own, Guiding Light.
Alexa Havins
Alexa Havins, who played Babe Carey Chandler on All My Children from 2003-07, married AMC costar Justin Bruening in 2005 and the two now share three children together, per Soap Opera Digest.
Michael E. Knight
Michael E. Knight married fellow soap actress Catherine Hickland in 1992. Though the pair divorced in 2006, per Soap Opera Digest, the two remained “close” friends.
David Canary
The late David Canary, who played Adam Chandler, wed Maureen Maroney (pictured at left, with Rosie O'Donnell) in 1982, per The Washington Post. Despite his decades-long run on AMC, Canary lived a relatively quiet life, which he opened up about in a 1993 interview with the Associated Press.
“At the risk of being misunderstood, I’m a real private person,” he told the AP. “I don’t make appearances. I don’t do fan magazine interviews. My wife and our two children live in a little town in Connecticut, where most of the people don’t watch the show and, if they do, don’t make a big deal out of it.”
James Mitchell
As noted by The Advocate at the time of the actor's death in 2010, Mitchell did not publicly talk about his partner Albert Wolsky, though their longtime relationship was noted in various obituaries at the time of his death.
The actor died at the age of 89 just weeks after appearing on the AMC 40th anniversary episode.
