After breaking the internet and becoming a household name thanks to her performance at the 2024 Olympics, Rachael ‘Raygun’ Gunn was quickly labelled “one of the most sought-after names” in the entertainment industry. An insider told Yahoo Lifestyle that TV networks were racing to sign the breakdancer, whose iconic look was recently ranked the second most popular Halloween costume around the world.

“Raygun is close to securing a lucrative network deal any day now which could determine which celebrity reality show the notorious breakdancer will appear on,” our source said. “The TV networks don't want to share her either. They are looking for ‘exclusive-network-deals’ that could be 12 to 24 months long.”

While her exclusive interview on The Project in September suggested she may have signed a deal with Channel 10 and would subsequently appear on the next season of I’m A Celebrity… Get Out Of Here!, the 37-year-old has now shut down rumours she will be making a foray into reality TV in 2025.

“Yeah, no, I will not be going into the jungle,” she told The Fox’s Fifi, Fev & Nick on Friday morning. “I just don't think reality TV is a good fit for me.”

Raygun went on to reveal the surprising reason she doesn’t want to appear on a reality show anytime soon, despite the enormous paycheque that would likely come with it.

“I have a very 'memeable' face, as we've seen. There's been some amazing memes that have come out, and I just don't think reality TV is the space for me,” she said with a laugh. “So I'm going to focus on things where I can really bring joy and to try and encourage people to be creative.”

Raygun made similar comments on Nova’s Fitzy & Wippa with Kate Ritchie on Thursday morning where she admitted that she’s received “a lot of reality TV requests”, but she’s simply not interested.

“I mean, look, as someone that went viral from their performance at the Olympics, I think I've got a very memeable face. It's very expressive, and I just feel like going on reality television is just not the right move,” she remarked. “It just fits so many different moods!

“To be honest, the last couple of months, I've been really focusing on just kind of managing this whole situation. All invitations and things go to my amazing agent so I can keep focusing on my mental health.”

Fans are clearly divided over whether or not they want to see Raygun on reality TV after her viral stint at the Olympics. One Facebook user responded to Yahoo Lifestyle’s poll about Raygun potentially being on Dancing With the Stars and wrote: “Oh yes. Please. I might actually watch LOL.”

“Yes she's the best,” another added, while a third said, “Great ratings as people will want to watch her to see if she can actually dance!”.

“For sure… she has the basic moves and just have to build on them... she's a whole lot better than some of the previous ‘stars’,” someone else remarked.

Others weren't so sure, with one person commenting: “Try Australia’s Got Talent and see how far she goes.”

“If it weren't for the internet blowing up all around the world because of her skill-less performance at the Olympics she'd still be the NOBODY she was before the Olympics,” a different user responded.

“OMG enough already - she’s had more than her 15 mins of fame for her ridiculous performance! How about giving more attention to all the Australian athletes that put in amazing efforts no matter what medal they won or place they came!” another shared.
