The Project hosts slam Sharon Osbourne for Piers Morgan support
Sharon Osbourne shocked this week after showing public support for Piers Morgan's comments about Meghan Markle.
Sharon took to Twitter to share her support of Piers, writing: "I am with you. I stand by you. People forget that you’re paid for your opinion and that you’re just speaking your truth."
She later went viral after her rant on The Talk in the US, where she snapped at Black co-host Sheryl Underwood, who tried to explain why Piers' comments were problematic.
"I will ask you again, Sheryl — I’ve been asking you during the break, and I’m asking you again. And don’t try and cry, because if anyone should be crying, it should be me," Sharon said.

"You tell me, educate me, when you have heard (Piers) say racist things. Educate me! Tell me!" she screamed, while Sheryl attempted to calmly talk about the situation.
"It is not the exact words of racism, it’s the implication and the reaction to it. To not want to address that because she was a black woman, to try and dismiss it, that’s what makes it racist," Sheryl said.
"But right now, I’m talking to a woman who I believe is my friend. And I don’t want anybody to watch this and (think) we’re attacking you for being racist," she added.
"I think it’s too late, I think that seed’s already sown," Sharon hit back.
Social media users have dubbed Sharon as "Karen Osbourne" following the 'career ending' outburst.
On The Project on Thursday night hosts Dr Chris Brown, Gorgi Coghlan and guest host Courtney Act slammed Sharon's comments.
"The thing is that Sharon Osbourne doesn’t understand, is that this is wrapped up in a whole layer of systemic and structural racism that’s going for so long and I think the fact that Sharon and Piers don’t understand this is just indicative of how deep the racism is," Courtney explained.
"That’s it, when you are entrenched in it and that is all you hear, when all you hear is that language, it’s hard for them to see it as being strange or inappropriate," Chris agreed.
"But also it’s not people of colour’s responsibility to explain and outline racism to us all the time. It’s up to us to educate ourselves," Gorgi added.
Piers responded to Sharon's tweet, writing: "When stuff like this happens, true friends run towards you, fake friends run away. I love Sharon Osbourne because she always stays true to herself.
"She knew she would get abused by the woke brigade for tweeting this – but did it anyway because it what she believes."
The host lashed out at reporters outside of his house, saying, "I don’t believe almost anything that comes out of (Meghan’s) mouth and I think the damage she’s done to the British monarchy and to the Queen at a time when Prince Philip is lying in hospital is enormous and frankly contemptible."
"If I have to fall on my sword for expressing an honestly held opinion about Meghan Markle and that diatribe of bilge that she came out with in that interview, so be it."
