Princess Mary appears 'uncomfortable' with Prince Frederik after affair rumours
"You can feel the tension and the body language says everything."
Crown Princess Mary and Crown Prince Frederik of Denmark looked 'tense' and 'uncomfortable' during their first engagement as a couple and without other members of the Danish royal family present following reports the future King cheated on his wife with Mexican socialite Genoveva Casanova. The couple, who have been married since 2004, have carried out engagements with other members of the royal family when reports of Frederik's alleged affair were first released.
Mary and Frederik met with Denmark's climate ambassador Tomas Anker Christensen at Amalienborg Palace, Copenhagen, with photos shared to the Danish royals' official Instagram account.
In the photos, the pair appear very serious and don't share any closeness. Fans took to the Instagram comments to share their thoughts, with one user writing, "You can feel the tension and the body language says everything."
"Looks chilly..." another said, while a third added, "Mary deserves better."

"The way they're filling us with all this content is so unlike them," someone else wrote. "You really are trying to cover it up and it's only making Fred look even more guilty."
"They don't look happy," one user bluntly put it.
"They don't look sparkling together as they used to," another agreed, with one user writing, "These photos show sadness."
Some even guessed there would be a "royal divorce" in 2024.
However, some defended the pair, with one user writing, "Stop saying people don't look happy. You are trying so hard to get our Crown Prince in bad light. Show some respect to our royal house please."
"These are two pictures of the couple sitting at a meeting about climate change. Do you seriously expect them to sit and hold hands and smile in love with each other while one person is telling them something important?" another hit back. "Come on what is happening to people. On the contrary, it shows that the crown prince couple are credible and that they rest in themselves by not feeling they have to prove anything!"
What happened between Frederik and Genoveva?
The royals have remained tightlipped after Spanish magazine Lecturas first claimed Frederick was cosying up to Genoveva. They have now told Danish publication B.T they "do not comment on rumours or insinuations". Frederick and Mary have also yet to comment on the matter.
Lecturas published photos showing Frederik and Genoveva attending a Pablo Picasso exhibition in Madrid last month, claiming the pair is romantically linked.

Genoveva has slammed any reports of a romantic connection between herself and Frederik, telling Hola! she 'categorically' denies any suggestion that she and Frederik are romantically involved, saying the rumours are "malicious" and untrue. She also said that she is looking to take legal action.
Lecturas claims Frederik and Genoveva went to her apartment building separately, both emerging separately two hours later before getting into the same car.
