Prince William and Kate Praised for ‘Kindness and Generosity’ After Surprise Donation Following Robbery
A food bank in London is thankful to Prince William and Kate Middleton for stepping in and donating funds following a devastating robbery.
After a Southwark Foodbank warehouse was robbed of thousands of dollars in food, hygiene products, and a laptop on Sept. 8, the charity Pecan took to social media to thank William and Kate for making a surprise contribution.
"A huge thank you to @Kensingtonroyal who have donated to the recovery effort following the theft of £3k of food supplies from @southwarkfoodbk. All at @Pecan121a have been overwhelmed by the outpouring of support from across society. Food stocks are being replenished now," the charity wrote on X on Sept. 13.

Commenters praised the royal couple for stepping in to help the very worthy cause.
"A big thank you to the Prince and Princess of Wales for their kindness and generosity which knows no bounds God bless this lovely family," raved one X user.
"That's just a lovely thing to do in response to that desperate act. Hope officials can find out who did it to discuss why and help rectify the behavior and address the need," another commenter wrote.
"Beautiful gesture from Prince and Princess of Wales," agreed someone else.
Pecan told People that the Prince and Princess of Wales donated £3,500 to the charity, which amounts to approximately $4,260.
In addition to needing money to replace the stolen goods, the warehouse also has to cover the cost of repairs to its door and shutter, which were damaged in the robbery. At the time of this writing, no arrests had been made.
