Prince Louis Shows Off Photography Skills for the First Time as He Picks Up Kate Middleton's Hobby
The Prince and Princess of Wales' 6-year-old son was credited with a poignant new photo starring his mother
Prince Louis is a budding photographer, taking after his mom, Kate Middleton!
On Feb. 1, the Princess of Wales shared a post on social media ahead of World Cancer Day. A new photo of Princess Kate, 43, showed her standing outdoors with her arms spread out — with credit for the image going to her youngest child. Prince Louis, 6, snapped the picture of his mother in Windsor earlier this year.
The forest setting of the new picture reflects the importance of spending time in nature to Princess Kate. "I really feel that nature and being interactive outdoors has huge benefits on our physical and mental well-being," she said in 2019.

Prince Louis isn't the first member of the royal family to get behind the camera for a photo shared on an official social media page. Kate has had a longtime interest in photography, even calling herself an "enthusiastic amateur photographer" and serving as a patron of the Royal Photographic Society.
The Princess of Wales also often captures milestones of her three children — Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, 9, and Prince Louis — such as their birthday portraits.
In the World Cancer Day post, Princess Kate also shared a new photo she took in Windsor, a closeup of greenery accompanied by a personal message: "Don’t forget to nurture all that which lies beyond the disease." The plants appear to be ferns, a symbol of endurance, resilience and new beginnings that Kate previously incorporated into her wardrobe. During her visit to Southport in October with Prince William, the royal sported Catherine Zoraida's Gold Fern Drop Earrings as they visited the community grieving the death of three young girls after a stabbing attack at a Taylor Swift-themed yoga and dance class.
The Princess of Wales announced in March 2024 that she was undergoing treatment for cancer. She shared positive news about her health in a Jan. 14 social media post, writing, "It is a relief to now be in remission and I remain focussed on recovery. As anyone who has experienced a cancer diagnosis will know, it takes time to adjust to a new normal. I am however looking forward to a fulfilling year ahead. There is much to look forward to. Thank you to everyone for your continued support."

Serious illness like cancer does change you. She has a young family, and it makes you rethink everything—your purpose and what you want to do with your life."
"For the princess, family — her husband and children — are more important than anything else,” the close royal insider says.
