Prince Harry's major regret after Queen's death: 'Too late'

Prince Harry is reportedly trying to make changes to his explosive memoir in the wake of the Queen's death earlier this month.

According to The Sun, the Duke of Sussex has already received half of his almost $60 million deal for his four-book deal, with sources now suggesting the father-of-two is nervous some sections of the book will appear to be "insensitive".

The sources suggest Harry is worried about the fact the book will be released so soon after the Queen's death and his father becoming King.

Insiders suggest Harry has contacted the publishers to change the book, but it's already been signed off and should be released before the end of the year.

The insiders claim the first draft was "too emotional" and focused more on "mental health issues" and wasn't quite what they wanted and a lot of time and energy went into ensuring it's release later this year.

Now, the source has claimed Harry has thrown a "spanner in the works".

"He is desperate to get it refined in the light of the Queen’s death, her funeral and his father Charles taking the throne," they added. "There may be things which might not look so good if they come out so soon after the Queen’s death and his dad becoming King.

"He wants sections changed. It’s not a total rewrite by any means. He desperately wants to make changes. But it might be too late."

It comes after royal author Robert Hardman claimed that it was the Queen's "dearest wish" the royal family "patch things up with Harry".

Harry and his wife Meghan Markle famously stepped down from royal duties in early 2020, with rumours about their rift with the royal family swirling ever since.

And according to Hardman, the monarch "adored Harry right to the end, and Harry adored her."

The royal expert spoke to People on Friday, and revealed one of the Queen’s ‘dearest wishes’ after her grandson moved to California.

“I think she was one of the conduits between Windsor and California, it would have been one of her dearest wishes that [the family] patch things up,” he told the publication.
