Harry's talks with William and Charles 'didn’t go as hoped'

Royal fans had hoped a reconciliation might be on the cards between Harry and his father and brother, Prince Charles and Prince William, after they reportedly had a private two-hour talk after Philip’s funeral.

But now a royal source has revealed the supposed 'peace talks' didn't go as Harry might have hoped.

Prince Harry was reunited with his family for the first time after his explosive interview with Oprah for the funeral of Prince Philip, which saw him walking behind the coffin, separated from his brother William by their cousin, Peter Phillips.

But despite the private talks after the event, tensions are reportedly still running high.

"Things haven’t exactly ironed out the way [Harry] had hoped," the source told The Mirror.

"There had been a kind of unspoken agreement between everyone to park whatever has been on each person’s mind, and solely concentrate on supporting the Queen ahead of Prince Philip ’s funeral."

The source added that Harry "didn’t expect everything to be completely back to normal", but "his feeling after seeing his family was there is a lot of ground to make up".

“Whether that is harder or easier to do on the other side of the world remains to be seen," they added.

It comes after it was revealed neither Charles or William were actually wiling to have 'one-on-one' chats with Harry, instead choosing to organise a meeting with the three of them, because neither trust Harry enough to speak with him alone

Sources told Page Six, they would only agree to talk to Harry if there were witnesses to what was said.

The Duke of Sussex jetted into the UK just hours after his grandfather had passed away, where he isolated at Frogmore Cottage for five days.

He was hoping to patch things up with his father, Prince Charles, in private before Prince Philip’s funeral, but had to wait until afterwards instead.

He is said to have written a ‘deeply personal note’ to Prince Charles before the funeral, after a "complete communication breakdown" between them.

According to The Mirror, the note "outlined his reasons for leaving" and promised to "respect the institution".

Indeed, Harry stated in his interview with Oprah Winfrey that his father had stopped taking his phone calls.

After the funeral service on Saturday, Prince William, Kate Middleton and Prince Harry were spotted chatting as they made the journey by foot back to Windsor Castle.

Harry is thought to be staying in the UK until after the Queen's Birthday on April 21.
