Prince Harry, Meghan Markle hit back at critics: 'Will not be broken'

"They’re still working and pursuing what they believe in, despite constantly being challenged and criticised."

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have released a statement amid backlash over the couple's trip to Canada following King Charles' cancer diagnosis.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex visited the training camp for the 2025 Invictus Games earlier this week, not long after Harry's quick trip to visit Charles amid his ongoing health issues, with it being widely reported Harry's conversation with Charles only lasted for 30-45 minutes upon his visit back home. Now that Harry will be doing press to promote the 2025 Games, it's expected he'll be asked about the brief encounter and his father's health.

After a source told the Telegraph that the couple "have three days to prove they can behave" if they "want to salvage a relationship with the Royal family", their rep hit back with a scathing statement from the couple.

“We’ve heard time and time again that certain opportunities are make or break for the couple. They’re still here," their rep told the Mirror.

“They’re still working and pursuing what they believe in, despite constantly being challenged and criticised. This couple will not be broken,” their camp stated.

Fans of the royals were upset with the move, given that the pair reportedly promised Queen Elizabeth that they would no longer use the name Sussex for their personal brands.

However, an insider told the Mirror that Sussex is still their surname and family name.

“Prince Harry and Meghan are the Duke and Duchess of Sussex,” the insider said. “That is a fact. It is their surname and family name.”
