Pink refused entry to Manly Skiff Club: 'Bunch of boofheads'
The GRAMMY winner was refused entry to a Manly restaurant with some fans horrified at the mishap.
If you thought being a celebrity automatically granted you entry to any bar or restaurant in the world, think again! Pink, who is currently in Australia for her Summer Carnival Tour, was denied entry to the Manly Skiff Club earlier in the week - despite having a reservation at the Northern Beaches spot.
Pink, real name Alecia Beth Moore, was turned away from the Skiff Club after being asked for ID - which she didn't have on her.
'A missed opportunity'
According to Manly local Mark Eymes, who witnessed the encounter, the singer was told she could not enter the venue without identification. Mark, who manages the Manly Markets, told The Manly Observer that he tried to alert Skiff Club staff to the fact that a global star was about to be turned away which, as he pointed out, was a bit of "missed opportunity."
“Next thing, I saw Pink and her group walking away. They just turfed her out,” he said.

While this could be seen as the Skiff Club (or the Skiffy, as we locals like to call it) just staying true to the area's reputation for being the 'insular peninsula', the decision to deny the GRAMMY winner entry was actually due to something called the Registered Club Act of 1976. The rule stipulates that visitors of Clubs need to show identification to prove their address (which should be 5 or more kilometres away), to be granted a temporary membership to the venue.
'A bunch of boofheads at a burger joint'
In a refreshing twist, Mark said that Pink was not a diva about the situation at all and took it all in her stride.
“Not once did she throw her weight around. She was really pleasant despite being a little upset that she couldn’t come in. It was just such a shame and I felt a little embarrassed that a solution couldn’t be found,” he told The Manly Observer.
While Pink herself may not have been too upset at being denied the chance to dine at the local club, her fans were quick to come to her defence with some leaving scathing comments on the Skiff Club's Instagram.

"Fancy turning away Pink get over yourselves you're just a club," one person wrote.
"Good way to get into the news I suppose. Do a stupid thing to a celebrity who is a beautiful human being and act like a bunch of boofheads at a burger joint," another chimed in.
The Skiff Club has since turned commenting on their posts off.
Skiff Club claims star chose to leave
In a statement, Secretary Manager of Many Skiff Club Matt Hazel said that the venue “deeply regrets any inconvenience caused to Pink, her family and friends during her recent visit to the Club”.
“We sincerely apologise for the misunderstanding surrounding the ID requirement and will be using the incident to improve our processes in the future,” he said.
He later made a public apology to Pink saying, "It's a shame, we understand the situation was frustrating, and for that, we apologise to Pink. We all missed a real opportunity here to show Pink and her crew, some of the best food and hospitality Sydney has to offer."
He continued, "The Manly 16ft Skiff Sailing Club extends our sincerest apologies to Pink, her family, and friends for the inconvenience experienced during her recent visit to our venue. It's important to clarify that Pink was not 'turfed out'; she chose to leave after encountering the sign-in process issue."
"As a 100-year-old sailing club, we have policies to ensure all patrons are signed in correctly. However, there was a misunderstanding, and we regret any embarrassment or frustration caused."
He concluded the statement by saying, "We appreciate Pink's graciousness and hope to welcome her back soon."
