People Are Praising Taylor Swift's Large Donation To Relief Efforts For Hurricanes Helene And Milton
Taylor Swift has made a large donation to help the ongoing relief efforts amid major hurricanes impacting states like North Carolina and Florida.
On Wednesday, Feeding America's CEO Claire Babineaux-Fontenot issued a statement on the nonprofit's Twitter account announcing the singer had donated $5 million. Noting the nonprofit is "incredibly grateful" to Swift for the donation, Babineaux-Fontenot said, "This contribution will help communities rebuild and recover, providing essential food, clean water, and supplies to people affected by these devastating storms."
"Together, we can make a real impact in supporting families as they navigate the challenges ahead," she continued. "Thank you, Taylor, for standing with us in the movement to end hunger and for helping communities in need."
The announcement of Swift's donation was quickly well-received online, where her fans praised her for her contribution:

Swift isn't the only celeb who monetarily aided in relief efforts this hurricane season. CBS News reported last week that Dolly Parton planned to donate $1 million to Mountain Ways Foundation for Hurricane Helene relief efforts.
And earlier this week, Billboard reported Metallica donated $100,000 to Helene relief efforts.
Singers Luke Combs, Eric Church, Billy Strings, and James Taylor will host a benefit concert on Oct. 26 in Charlotte, North Carolina.
North Carolina was particularly hit hard by Hurricane Helene last month, and the New York Times reports that across numerous states the death toll is over 230 as of Oct. 6.
According to CBS News, Hurricane Milton is expected to hit landfall on Florida's west coast near Sarasota on Wednesday night.
