Peacock Orders Crime Drama ‘Superfakes’ From ‘Beef’ Co-EP Alice Ju
Peacock has given a series order to a new crime drama called Superfakes from the Emmy Award-winning Alice Ju (Beef, Poker Face).
Superfakes follows a small-time Chinatown luxury counterfeit dealer who enters a dangerous black market underworld in order to fund a life of suburban respectability for her family.

Ju will serve as showrunner, writer and executive producer. Josh Safdie and Benny Safdie (The Curse, Uncut Gems) are executive producing, along with Howard Klein (The Office, Parks and Recreation) and Olivia Gerke (Fantasmas) for 3 Arts, Ronald Bronstein and Eli Bush.
The series is produced by A24 and UCP, a division of Universal Studio Group.
In 2023, Ju won her first Emmy for Beef, which triumphed as that year’s Outstanding Limited Series. She co-executive produced the Netflix series that stars Steven Yeun and Ali Wong.
Ju also served as a consulting producer on Poker Face and as a producer on Russian Doll. She also wrote on the Max Original The Other Two.
She’s repped by UTA and 3 Arts.
