‘Paranormal Activity’ 15th Anniversary Screening to Kick Off Blumhouse and AMC Theatres’ BlumFest

Blumhouse, the production company behind big-screen scares like the “Paranormal Activity” franchise, video game adaptation “Five Nights at Freddy’s” and AI thriller “M3GAN,” is partnering with AMC Theatres to celebrate the spookiest month of the year.

AMC’s Blumfest, a six-week screening program that’s devoted to all things horror, kicks off Sept. 25 with the 15th anniversary screening of “Paranormal Activity.” The festivities will continue every Wednesday in October in 54 cities across the U.S. Some films on the lineup include “Lights Out,” “Insidious: Chapter 2,” “Happy Death Day” and “The Black Phone.” Screenings will be held at 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. local time with tickets priced at discounted rates. Attendees will also see sneak peeks of upcoming Blumhouse films, as well as recorded messages from directors and talent from the movies they’re watching.

“This whole month is a love letter to Halloween and our fans,” said Jason Blum, the founder and CEO of Blumhouse. “I can’t believe we’re already celebrating the 15th anniversary of ‘Paranormal Activity,’ because it feels like we’re just getting started.”

AMC and Blumhouse have previously teamed on Halfway to Halloween Film Festival, a five-day event that took place in March. But this is the first time that Blumfest includes a national screening program.

“Though AMC entertains Blumhouse film fans year-round, the Halloween season makes horror movies even more fun,” said Elizabeth Frank, executive VP of worldwide programming and chief content officer at AMC Theatres. “We’re excited to bring the BlumFest celebration to the big screen with fan favorite movies and unique extra content.”
