Oscars 2024: Where to watch the Academy Awards in Australia

Start planning your viewing party, the Oscars are almost here.

The red carpet is about to be rolled out for the 2024 Academy Awards with Oppenheimer leading the nominations - racking up a huge 13 nominations in total, including Best Picture, Best Actor for Cillian Murphy, Best Supporting Actress for Emily Blunt, Best Supporting Actor for Robert Downey Jr and Best Director for Christopher Nolan.

Poor Things comes in a close second in the nominations race with 11 chances to win - including Best Actress, Best Actor, Achievement in Directing, Best Picture and Best Makeup and Hairstyling.

Jimmy Kimmel will host the annual awards show once again which will be broadcast from its traditional location of the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles.

Who is performing at the 2024 Oscars?

In terms of entertainment, Ryan Gosling (who is nominated for Best Supporting Actor in Barbie) will take to the stage with Mark Ronson to perform 'I'm Just Ken' while Billie Eilish and Finneas will no doubt wow the crowd with a rendition of 'What Was I Made For?'.

Scott George and the Osage Singers, Jon Batiste and Becky G also will perform Oscar-nomimated songs.

Who is presenting at the 2024 Oscars?

The list of presenters is incredibly star-studded with celebs such as Emily Blunt, America Ferrera, Sally Field, Ryan Gosling, Ariana Grande, Anya Taylor-Joy, Charlize Theron, Chris Hemsworth, Dwayne Johnson, Jennifer Lawrence, Catherine O’Hara and Zendaya (plus many, many more) set to hand out statuettes.

How can I watch the 2024 Oscars in Australia?

Viewers can take in all the fashion of The Oscars Red Carpet Show from 9.30 am AEDT on Channel 7 and streaming live nationally on 7plus on Monday, March 11.

The Oscars ceremony will then be aired live from 10.00 am AEDT on Channel 7 and streamed live nationally on 7plus, with an encore screening at 8.30 pm, straight after Australian Idol’s live verdict show.
