The Office spinoff series announced a few new casting additions!
Melvin Gregg, Chelsea Frei and Ramona Young were reported as three cast members in the new series, per the Palisadian-Post. The actors shadowed the publication’s reporters in preparation for their roles.
Gregg, 35, is known for his work as Drew "Manboy" Miller in the Hulu series Snowfall, as well as his role as DeMarcus Tillman in the Netflix comedy series American Vandal. Along with TV roles, he also starred in 2020's The Way Back with Ben Affleck.
Following the announcement, Gregg shared a sweet Instagram confirming the news.
“Blessed!!! Through my work I wish to not only entertain but to hopefully inspire,” he wrote in his Instagram caption. “My followers have seen me come so far; from silly videos on vine to building a family and a budding acting career, sketches with the homies to scenes with some of the biggest stars on the planet.”
Gregg is joined by Frei, who is best known for her work on The Cleaning Lady. The 31-year-old actress also appeared in Dollface, The Last O.G., Poker Face and The Moodys.
Frei also posted a celebratory Instagram photo on Tuesday, Sept. 10.
“The second picture is when I found out about this ludicrous news a few months ago and I’ve been smiling like that ever since!!! 🥹🥹🥹🥹,” she wrote in her Instagram caption.
The pair are also joined by Never Have I Ever star Young. Along with starring in The Office alum Mindy Kaling's Netflix series, Young, 26, also appeared in Santa Clarita Diet, DC's Legends of Tomorrow and features Unpregnant and The Prank.
“I have no words. Only parkour. So so so grateful 💗💗,” Young wrote in her Instagram announcement.

Ahead of the three additions announcement, Domhnall Gleeson and Sabrina Impacciatore, the breakout star of season 2 of The White Lotus, were announced in May as the new series stars.
The new series—which is rumored to be titled The Paper—is not an exact reboot or spinoff of the original NBC series. It will follow the original series’ mockumentary format and take place in the same universe.
“The documentary crew that immortalized Dunder Mifflin’s Scranton branch is in search of a new subject when they discover a dying historic Midwestern newspaper and the publisher trying to revive it with volunteer reporters,” per the series’ official logline.
Greg Daniels, who adapted the British version of the show, and Michael Koman will serve as executive producers alongside Howard Klein, Ben Silverman and Banijay Americas, as well as the creators of the original British version, Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant.
