O-T Fagbenle, Sian Clifford & Ronny Chieng Join Peacock’s ‘The Miniature Wife’

EXCLUSIVE: O-T Fagbenle (The Handmaid’s Tale, Presumed Innocent) and Sian Clifford (Fleabag, The Ballad of Wallis Island) have joined as series regulars and Ronny Chieng (The Daily Show, Crazy Rich Asians) in a recurring role in Peacock’s upcoming comedy, The Miniature Wife. Details regarding their characters are under wraps.

They join series leads and executive producers Elizabeth Banks and Matthew Macfadyen and cast Zoe Lister-Jones and Sofia Rosinsky in the series created and executive produced by Jennifer Ames and Steve Turner, who also serve as showrunners.

Based on the short story written by Manuel Gonzalez, The Miniature Wife is a high-concept marital comedy examining the power (im)balances between spouses, Lindy (Banks) and Les (Macfadyen), after a technological accident induces the ultimate relationship crisis.

Greg Mottola will direct the first two episodes and serves as an executive producer alongside Banks, Macfadyen, Ames, Turner, Michael Aguilar and Michael Ellenberg and Lindsey Springer for Media Res and Michael Aguilar.

Fagbenle will next be seen in the final season of Hulu’s The Handmaid’s Tale returning as ‘Lucas Bankole,’ husband of ‘June Osbourne’ (Elisabeth Moss). In the Season 5 finale, Lucas was arrested while trying to flee Canada with June and her daughter after he killed a man who ran over his wife with his truck. Fagbenle received his first Emmy Award nomination in 2021 for the role under the “Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series” category.

Fagbenle is also known for portraying former president Barack Obama in Showtime’s The First Lady. Additional credits include the Apple TV+ series Presumed Innocent, Netflix’s No Good Deed and Marvel’s Black Widow. He is repped by Buchwald, Entertainment 360 and Hansen, Jacobsen.

Clifford is best known for portraying ‘Claire’ in the hit BBC/Prime Video series Fleabag for which she received her first Emmy Award nomination in 2019 under the “Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series” category and won a BAFTA Award for “Best Female Comedy Performance.”

She also starred in the ITV/Prime Video series Vanity Fair, the Disney+ Original film Young Woman and the Sea, Netflix’s The Magician’s Elephant and Channel 4’s Everyone Else Burns. She is repped by United Agents, UTA and Anonymous Content.

Chieng is an Emmy Award-winning comedian, writer, and actor. He is a correspondent on Comedy Central’s The Daily Show, winning an Emmy for his work guest hosting the show in 2024. He has starred in Crazy Rich Asians, Godzilla vs. Kong, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, M3GAN, Hulu’s Vacation Friends and Randall Park’s film Shortcomings for Sony Pictures Classics.

His TV credits include Disney+’s series American Born Chinese, Hulu’s History of the World Part II, Disney+’s Doogie Kamealoha, M.D., NBC’s Young Rock, and three Netflix standup comedy specials: Ronny Chieng: Asian Comedy Destroys America, Ronny Chieng: Speakeasy and Ronny Chieng: Love To Hate It. He can currently be seen in Hulu’s Interior Chinatown, based on Charles Yu’s book and directed by Taika Waititi. He is repped by Artists First, Independent Artists Group and Cohen and Gardner.
