As the arrival of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s baby fastly approaches, many royal fans have been waiting for the official announcement Meghan Markle is on maternity leave.

Her sister-in-law the Duchess of Cambridge has always officially announced when she was set to go on maternity leave with all three of her pregnancies, but Meghan is taking a different tune.

The 37-year-old appears to have carried out her last public engagements before she gives birth to her first child.

Meghan attended the Commonwealth Day service at Westminster Abbey on Monday, alongside her husband Harry and senior members of the Royal Family.

Kensington Palace tells Yahoo UK that Meghan, 37, has no more public duties scheduled, but she does have a number of private meetings.

However, there was no concrete confirmation or statement the official Suits star has started her maternity leave.

In comparison, sister-in-law Kate typically starts her leave around a month before she gave birth to each of her three children.

Meghan revealed to well-wishers during a visit to Birkenhead in January that she’s due to give birth at the end of April or beginning of May.

It’s still not known where Meghan and Harry have chosen to have their baby.

All three of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s children were born at the Lindo Wing the private maternity ward at St Mary’s Hospital in Paddington.

But there has been some speculation that Meghan could decide to have her child at the NHS-run Frimley Park Hospital in Camberley, Surrey, which is much closer to their new home when they move to Frogmore Cottage in Windsor.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex announced on Thursday have appointed Hillary Clinton’s former campaign advisor to head up their communications team, as they are set to totally cut ties from Kensington Palace.

It was announced that the Queen has agreed to the creation of a new Household for Harry and Meghan, which will be based out of Buckingham Palace, instead of Kensington Palace.
