Royal fans may have thought Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle had put their reported ‘feud’ to bed on Monday when they greeted each other with a warm peck on the cheek.

However, according to one royal source, the whole thing was orchestrated by Kate Middleton, who was keen to end the rumours before her sister-in-law welcomes her and Prince Harry’s baby next month.

Indeed, a smiling Kate and Meghan made headlines all over the world when they put on a united front at the Commonwealth Day celebrations at Westminster Abbey.

However, according to one insider, the royal women just don’t have much in common and the Duchess of Cambridge in particular knows that they need to keep their ‘relationship professional’.

“She wants them to get along, not just for Harry’s sake but because two royal sisters-in-law at loggerheads wouldn’t be good, and Kate knows that,” the source told Vanity Fair.

“There are no bad feelings and I think Kate was keen to put an end to these rift rumours.

“She has no problem with Meghan and she has made it clear to Meghan that she’s there for advice or whatever Meghan might need.”

The reported ‘rift’ between the pair comes after they, along with their husbands, Prince William and Prince Harry, were dubbed the ‘Fab Four’ at the beginning of 2018.

Fast-forward just one year later and fans are dissecting images of the royals, wondering if there’s any truth to the rumours, which all started when Kate Middleton was apparently left in tears after a flower girl dress fitting with Meghan Markle and Princess Charlotte.

Body language expert Kirsty Milligan tells Yahoo Lifestyle, “The ‘Fab Four’ are definitely well versed in how to maintain a professional/regal presence in public.”

So much so, that if there is a feud going on behind-closed-doors, they know how to hide it.

“If there is a rift, they’re very practiced in not allowing that to show,” she said. “We can usually see this in facial expressions and guarded or protective body movements that show discomfort.”

Analysing their behaviour at Buckingham Palace last week, she added, “What we can see of their facial expressions is very composed. This could certainly be masking many other feelings and emotions.
