What’s new on Netflix, Stan, BINGE, Amazon Prime, Disney+ and Apple TV+

Everything streaming on Netflix, Stan, BINGE, Amazon Prime Video, Disney+, Apple TV+ and Paramount+ that’s worth your time from March 21-27, 2022.

NETFLIX

The Principles of Pleasure (22nd)

Sex, joy and modern science come together in this “eye-opening series that celebrates the complex world of women’s pleasure.” So, what, it’s just a bunch of lingering close-ups of cheese? Would watch that, to be honest.

PICK OF THE WEEK

Bridgerton S2 (25th)

Good news: Bridgerton is back, baby! The bad news? Regé-Jean Page is not. Still, plenty of other hunky blokes, saucy sheilas and bodice-ripping twists and turns in the show that made corsets sexy again. We liked the first season, and hopefully, the new one continues the quality.

Transformers: BotBots (25th)

Here’s a kid-focused Transformers cartoon perfect for those ruggies hopped up on red cordial and in need of some serious distracting. Thank you, nanny Netflix.

800 Metres (25th)

Hard-hitting docu-series about two terrorist attacks that Spain suffered in 2017. True crime aficionados will be across this harrowing tale.

STAN

The Trip to Spain (23rd)

Steve Coogan, Rob Brydon, gorgeous scenery and delicious-looking food as the two hilarious comedians improvise their way around the joint. Low stakes, high entertainment for those in the right mood.

Footloose (1984), (2011) (25th)

Re-watch the classic original starring Kevin Bacon and be surprised at how well it’s aged. Then check out the 2011 remake and remark, “that is also a film that exists”, then forget about it six seconds later.

BINGE

In the Heights (22nd)

If you missed this joyous, life-affirming musical from Lin-Manuel Miranda at the cinema, now’s your chance to experience this wonderful flick from the comfort of your couch. Leave some dancing room, though, you'll need it.

Sanditon S2 (24th)

If Bridgerton hasn’t quite scratched that period piece itch, then Sanditon’s second season should be able to assist. A little less steamy, a little more classy, but compelling nonetheless.

One Perfect Shot S1 (24th)

The idea of a series based on a Twitter account sounds awful, but director Ava DuVernay (Selma, When They See Us) will no doubt class up this treat of a show for film buffs.

Amazon Prime Video

The Domestics (24th)

Weird as hell post-apocalyptic yarn, starring Kate Bosworth, looks like a bizarre melding of Mad Max and The Purge. If that sounds like your jam, you’re likely in for a treat!

Lizzo’s Watch Out for the Big Grrrls (25th)

Lizzo’s on the hunt for backup dancers to join her on the road and the competition - much like Lizzo herself - is fierce. Body positive shenanigans ensue, and expect plenty of laughter and tears along the way.

Bosch S7 (25th)

It’s the final season of the show you probably know vaguely about but have never actually watched. So, erm, congratulations on the epic run, Bosch, we hardly knew ya!

Disney+

Better Things – S1-4 (23rd)

Four great seasons of the Pamela Adlon-starring bittersweet comedy are now available for your viewing pleasure. So, you know, hook in!

The Ice Age Adventures of Buck Wild (25th)

Here’s an Ice Age spin-off animated flick featuring the considerable vocal talents of Simon Pegg, Vincent Tong, Aaron Harris, Utkarsh Ambudkar and Justina Machado. Fun for all ages.

Brazil (25th)

Terry Gilliam’s brilliant, brutal, dystopian satire of bureaucracy is, unfortunately, just as potent and accurate today as it was in 1985. Visually stunning and utterly heart-breaking, this one’s an all-time classic.

Apple TV+

Pachinko (25th)

Based on the New York Times bestseller, Pachinko is an epic saga about the hopes and dreams of a Korean immigrant family across four generations. Quality stuff by all accounts.

HALO (24th)

Based on the popular video game series of the same name, HALO comes to streaming with a hefty amount of anticipation. Can it break the ‘terrible video game adaptation’ curse? Erm, probably not to be honest. But here’s hoping!
