Mythic Quest will have been on hiatus for nearly two years by the time it returns, following the Season 3 finale on Jan. 6, 2023. Per the official logline, Season 4 will bring its characters “under the same fluorescent office lights as the reunited team at Mythic Quest confronts new challenges amongst a changing video game landscape as stars rise, egos clash, relationships bloom and everyone tries to have a little more work-life balance.”

Additionally, Apple has set a release date for Mythic Quest‘s universe-expanding anthology series Side Quest (formerly titled Mere Mortals), which will premiere with all four episodes on Wednesday, March 26, coinciding with the mothership’s Season 4 finale. First ordered in December 2022 (initially with eight episodes), Side Quest is described not as a spinoff, but as a companion series that “explores the lives of employees, players and fans who are impacted by the game in an anthology format.”

In addition to appearances from Mythic Quest actors Rob McElhenney and Derek Waters, Side Quest episodes will star Anna Konkle (PEN15), William Stanford Davis (Abbott Elementary), Bria Henderson (The Good Doctor), Esai Morales (NYPD Blue), Rome Flynn (How to Get Away With Murder), Leonard Robinson (Insecure), Gary Kraus (Barry) and Annamarie Kasper (Good Trouble), among others.
