MKR judge Colin Fassnidge left 'petrified' over health scare
After the death of his good friend Jock Zonfrillo, a recent health scare left Colin Fassnidge terrified.
My Kitchen Rules judge Colin Fassnidge has opened up about a recent health scare, saying the passing of his friend and late MasterChef judge Jock Zonfrillo has made him appreciate every day.
Speaking in a candid chat with Stellar, Colin, who turns 50 this month, said he was left shocked when his doctor told him he might have cancer.
“My doctor is as blunt as a brick, and he said to me, ‘Oh, that could be bowel cancer.’ I was like, ‘What the f**k?’,” he said.
“He booked me in with a surgeon for a colonoscopy and a gastroscopy. It was a scary two weeks. I didn’t tell anyone, but I was absolutely petrified.
“I remember being wheeled in on the trolley and people were staying, ‘I love the show’ and I was like, ‘This is not the time!’”

Colin was given the all-clear and said he appreciated it all that more after the passing of his friend, Scottish chef Jock Zonfrillo.
“The next day, I was putting up pictures of a sunrise [on Instagram] because I was out running going, how good is the world? I think it was because of the whole Jock thing, as well, because he was younger than me. It’s a wake-up call,” he said.
Colin’s fitness journey
Last year, Colin unveiled his incredible transformation on his Instagram account after undergoing a gruelling six months of training with world-class kickboxing champion Adam Eddine.
“So when I started training with Adam he made me take a photo day one (which I found quite embarrassing looking at it),” he wrote. “Moving forward six months and on the road filming a lot, we still found time for our weekly Colin bashing.
“You meet a few people in life who truly help and motivate you, Adam is one of those people. Still a lot more to do (beer belly!).”
“Well done mate!” Sunrise’s Mark Beretta wrote, followed by Colin’s I’m A Celebrity co-star Robert ‘Dipper’ DiPierdomenico who replied, “How good Col”.
“Great achievement keep up the good work,” another added, while a fourth said, “Good on you Colin, your girls would be so proud of you”.
